AEGEE

What is AEGEE?

AEGEE is a student organisation that promotes co-operation, communication and integration amongst young people in Europe. As a non-governmental, politically independent and non-profit organisation AEGEE is open to students and young professionals from all faculties and disciplines – today it counts 15.000 members, active in more than 240 university cities in 43 European countries, making it the biggest interdisciplinary student association in Europe.


Where does it come from?

AEGEE was founded in 1985 and has been an important force in creating the Erasmus Programme. Its rationale was to put Europe into practice by enabling students from all over europe to come together in conferences, seminars, working group meetings and more. AEGEE's mission is to
1.Promoting a unified Europe without prejudices,
2. Striving for creating an open and tolerant society of today and tomorrow
3.Fostering democracy, human rights, tolerance, cross-boarder cooperation, mobility and European dimension in education.


How does it work?

When you join AEGEE you will get access to study trips, events, seminars and much more which will enable you to get a deeper understanding of Europe and its people by interacting with them and travelling.

AEGEE has chapters in 240 universities in 43 countries all over Europe.


I am not a Bachelor Student anymore. Can I still participate?

Master’s students can also participate. Contact your local AEGEE office for opportunities.
