AIESEC

What is AIESEC?

AIESEC is the world’s largest youth-run organization. The focus of AIESEC is to provide a platform for youth leadership and to organize international internships to promote international understanding and co-operation. What makes AIESEC so great is the people which run it, the global network which being a member entails and the active alumni which often are leaders within their organizations and communities. AIESEC is about creating positive change in the world from young on.

Where does it come from?

AIESEC was created in the 1960s. The rationale behind the project was to get people to travel around Europe to foster international understanding in the wake of the recent world war. Their first activities were aimed at Student Traineeship Exchange programmes, meaning getting students to work abroad to foster integration of Europe. Later it grew and started becoming active in fields of computers, politics and more.

How does it work?

An AIESECer full member is recruited and chosen. To do a traineeship abroad in either Managerial, Technical or Social area, you can apply to AIESEC and are chosen. To be part of AIESEC means to have an instant global network of AIESECers.

Where can I go for an AIESEC Traineeship?

Too many to list. Anywhere in the world is safe to say.

I am not a Bachelor Student anymore. Can I still participate?

Master’s students can also participate. Contact your local AIESEC office for opportunities even if you’re not a student anymore.
