Dear readers!
On 8 March 2011 a press release about Erasmate appeared in Nuffic’s Transfer Magazine.
Nuffic’s motto is Linking Knowledge Worldwide. And everything we have done since our foundation in 1952 has been driven by this mission.
Transfer Magazine keeps you up to date on the development of internationalization of higher education.

The Erasmus programme gives European students since 1987 the possibility to exchange for 3-12 months to another European university in order to get to know foreign people, culture and languages.
In order to increase international mobility of students further, the Bachelor/Master system was introduced in early 2000s. The system allows better comparison of the various study programmes in Europe and enables flexible learning pathways.
This BBC video gives an example of UK students doing their study in the Netherlands as universities in their home country are over subscribed and tuition fees are high.
The increase in student mobility calls for a webportal where students can easily find housing abroad! Welcome to Erasmate!
In our ongoing efforts to become the best website to find your student accommodation across Europe, we are happy to welcome more new partners.
After announcing 4 new university partners last week, we are now proud to help students leaving and going to Budapest University of Technology and Economics (HU), Charles University in Prague (CZ), Université de Bourgogne in Dijon (FR) and the Universities of Chichester, Edinburgh (both UK), Primorska (SI) and Twente (NL) with finding a room abroad.
Also, the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) of Ioannina in Greece recommends our service to their members.

Right on time for the start of the new academic year, we are happy to announce an increasing number of universities and institutions that recommend Erasmate. Next to the already more than 20 universities across Europe, who trust Erasmate’s service, an additional 6 institutions are now officially recommending Erasmate.
We will be glad to help students from the universities in Bonn/Germany, Tallinn/Estonia, Vienna/Austria and Zurich/Switzerland find a room for the Erasmus year 2010/2011. In addition, we will help the incoming and outgoing students of the Studentenwerk Freiburg/Germany and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Twente with finding accommodation anywhere in Europe.
Have a look which other universities recommend Erasmate.
Today a news article was written about the expected shortage of rooms for international students in Wageningen. Real Estage Agency Idealis expects to be able to provide all first year students in Wageningen with a room, Erasmus students most likely have to search for themselves. Who knows Idealis wants to recommend Erasmate to all incoming students in Wageningen?!

Dear readers!
During the week of entrepreneurship (14.04 – 17.04) higher management of Maastricht University openly said that they appreciate the close working relation with the Centre of Entrepreneurship and that they’ll fully support and stimulate the Centre and its projects.
It would have been great if this all was actually true! Read the following quote, written by our own IRO officers and find out the truth:
“With respect to yur initiative, please refer to my previous message and that of Ms [XYZ]. I’m sorry that we cannot be of any further assistance.”
Mates, even funnier to share is that they just signed a cooperation with another company with the same purpose – providing a student-to-student housing platform!
